I also now offer full-custom, TIG-welded frames, designed and built to the same quality as my lug and fillet-brazed frames, but at a more affordable price point. These bikes, called Item 4, are produced in partnership with Metal Guru, and are a modern take on the classic steel road bike.
Item 4 Bikes feature a selection of specially-designed, hand-selected components, including embossed Item 4 bottom bracket shells, Metal Guru thru axles, Paragon Machine Works stainless steel dropouts and derailleur hangers, exclusive Bishop-designed brake bridges, and more.
Modern Bicycles – Modern Standards
Item 4 bikes feature up-to-date design specs, including flat-mount disc brake availability, fully-internal cable routing, T47 bottom bracket shells, and 12mm thru-axle forks and dropouts.
Included as standard is a single-color, high-quality coating of paint. For an additional charge, you can further customize your bike with more intricate and custom paint designs.
Item 4 bikes also include as standard a carbon fiber fork, sourced from a variety of partners including ENVE, Columbus, Whiskey, and others.
Through our partnership with Metal Guru, these bikes are available in a fraction of the time as my lugged & fillet brazed bikes, with lead-times typically running in the 6-8 week range.
