Bishop Bikes

Lugged & Fillet Brazed Bicycles

My specialty is lug and fillet-brazed bicycles with no-holds-barred artisanal customization and attention to detail.

Beautiful paint and thinned lugs provide the finishing flourishes on a solid foundation. These bikes are what Bishop Bikes have become known for in the handmade bicycle business.

Among my many influences are the classic French constructeurs, Italian racing bikes, and the great American custom builders of today.

Combining classic artisanal techniques and modern materials, I create bikes with a clean, modern aesthetic and precise attention to detail. Each bike is built by hand in my workshop in Baltimore, Maryland, and is tailored exactly to the customer’s needs, measurements and specifications.

The bikes I create can be used for many types of riding, including road, gravel, cyclocross, track, city/commuting, randonneur – any anything in between.

I don’t use a base tubeset as I believe this contradicts the idea of a “custom” bike. Each and every tube on your bike will be hand- picked based on your weight, your desired handling, desired frame weight, and desired stiffness. All the tubing I use is the highest level tubing available.

In addition to modern tubesets from Columbus, Dedacciai, Reynolds, Tange, Kaisei and others, I also stock a number of rare and vintage tubesets, lugs, and components. These are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Customers have the option of choosing a carbon fiber fork from industry partners including ENVE, Columbus, Whiskey and others, or having a custom steel fork fabricated as part of their build.

As these bicycles are fully-custom designs, there are virtually no limits on what can be customized. Please refer to my pricing page for more details on options and costs.
